How To Measure & Order Prewoven Cane?

To Determine What Size Open Mesh Cane to Order.

1. Measure one "pattern repeat" as shown on the example picture shown below. Click on image to enlarge it.

Fine Half inch open mesh is the most standard size.

To Determine How Much Cane to Order.

1. The cane webbing is priced per linear inch. We will cut you a single sheet depending on how many inches you order, so if you need a single piece that is 36 inches by 18 inches, you would find the roll that is 18 inches wide and replace the number one in the white field with a number 36.

I now stock the cane in 12" to 30" wide rolls.

Please find the SPLINE you will need to install below. It is ordered separately and is sold by the foot.

Spline You will need spline to hold the cane to the chair. Here are the standard sizes. You will need to measure the width of the groove. It is important that you pick the closest size. Just as a reference, 3/16" is the same as 12/64ths or 6/32nds. The cost of the spline is .24 cents per foot, and is sold by the foot.

Spline removing chisel

Comes in 1/8" S-7940 or 3/16"S-7941. A must have! $15.50 each.

Caning Wedges

Four are used to hold it in place while you use the fifth one to push it into the groove. You may need to trim down the four to get a firm hold when pounded in depending on your groove width and depth.

4 1/2" Long x 1 1/2" wide. Sold in lots of five.
